Beauty DIY: Watermelon Cleansing Rinse

watermelonDid you know that Watermelon has many beauty benefits? Plus, watermelon is the perfect summer fruit, and easy to get your hands on. In today's video it shows you how to use watermelon as a refreshing summer cleansing rinse.
The reason watermelon juice makes such a great facial rinse is because it is packed with antioxidants and vitamins. It's also filled with malic acid, an alpha-hydroxy acid that will exfoliate your skin and help heal it.

Here are three ways to use Watermelon:

Cleansing Rinse
Take a chunk of watermelon and use a fork to mash it into pulp. Apply the pulp to clean skin and let it sit for 10 minutes. Rub the pulp in circular motions to cleanse your skin, and then rinse it off with cool water. Follow this with your normal skincare routine.

Moisturizing Mask
1/2 cup watermelon
1/4 cup papaya
1/2 of a banana
2 teaspoons whole milk

Mash all of these ingredients up into a paste. Apply a layer to your face for 15 to 20 minutes. Rinse it off with cool water and follow with your normal skin care routine.

Glowing Mask
1 cup watermelon
1/2 of a banana
1/2 cup plain yogurt

Mash all of these ingredients up into a paste. Pour into a clean container and let it sit in the fridge for at least an hour. Apply a layer to your face for 15 to 20 minutes. Rinse it off with cool water and follow with your normal skin care routine.

Did you know that watermelon is also great for preventing peeling when you are sunburnt? The same acids that will help exfoliate your healthy skin can help heal your sunburnt and achy skin. Just take a slice from the fridge and gently slide is over your sunburnt skin. Once you are healed, remember to use sunscreen! The best way to help your skin is not to burn it at all!

While you are treating your skin to these yummy face masks, why don't you indulge your insides too? Drop some watermelon slices into a jar of ice water and let it sit for a bit before drinking for a refreshing, summery treat. Plus, it's super healthy!

P.S. How cute is this picture! It's perfectly patriotic for 4th of July weekend. I found
